As a young girl, my favorite pastime was shoe shopping with my grandmother. We lived in a very small town in the Midwest, so we had to travel to "big city" towns nearby to shop. My grandmother would sit patiently as I tried on every single pair of shoes in my size debating which pair was the one for me. Then, ultimately I would choose the one that was just a bit too sophisticated for a young girl and my grandmother and I would giggle because we knew we'd be in trouble. My mother would be so upset at our choice!

My grandmother passed away years ago, but I'll always have the memories of those shoe shopping trips.
